Franke Stainless Sink
Some Hints and Tips for caring for your
Franke Stainless Sink, or any type of stainless steel sink.
Stainless steel is an extremely durable material. With only a
little bit if care from the owner, a stainless steel can
maintain it's beauty for years to come.
Maintaining
The Shiny Look Of A Franke Stainless Steel Sink
Clean the sink daily. We recommend to wipe
the sink after each use with a soft cloth and detergent. Make
sure to rinse well, and allow to dry. In areas where the water
is hard, minerla deposits can build on your sink. We have found
"Barkeepers Friend" to be a great cleaner for Franke Stainless
Steel sinks.Your local grocer should have a great selection.
Steel wool should not be used to clean stainless steel sinks.
Steel wool can leave tiny particles that will rust on your
sink.
Even though stainless steel does not rust on
it's own, if rust is an issue from possibly an iron kettle, or
other cook ware, a non abrasive cleaner designed for stainless
steel will quickly do the job.
Dealing With Scratches
Even though stinless steel is very durable, they CAN get
dented, scratched or scuffed. Scratches can be blended in using
inox cream, made by Franke and a fine 3M, Scotch brite pad
making sure to wipe along the grain. Taking care to not slam
items into the sink with force is just common sense.
Take note that as your sink ages, scratches
wil blend and actually add to the beauty of your Franke
Stainless Sink.
What To Avoid With A Franke
Stainless Steel Sink?
Cleaners and bleaches containing hypochlorite will attack
stainless steel and cause pitting and staining. Silver cleaners
contain corrosive acids which can leave permanent stains on
your sink.
Certain acidic foods, such as, vinegar,
pickles, mayonnaise, citrus juices, (lemon, orange,
grapefruit)
Other strong acids such as the ones used
when developing photographic images or acids used for cleaning
grout or masonry. Any corrosive liquid or material should be
rinsed off as soon as possible if in contact with the sink.
